Everybody Panic: Butterball Says There’s a Turkey Shortage Just in Time for Thanksgiving

Oh no!!! Shortage on this great muscle building protein??? Better get yours before everyone else does!


Tryptophan induced food comas might be at an all-time low this year. Butterball (purveyor of 20 percent of US turkeys) announced that there’s a shortage of their larger birds.

New England grocery chain Big Y broke the news that Butterball cut back its turkey sales by 50 percent this year.

“We experienced a decline in weight gains on some of our farms causing a limited availability of large, fresh turkeys,” Butterball said in a statement. “While we are continuing to evaluate all potential causes, we are working to remedy the issue.”

Since the average Thanksgiving turkey weighs an average of 16 lbs, we should start hoarding our turkeys now, right?

Considering that the news only refers Butterball’s fresh turkeys, there’s no need for hysteria just yet. Families can go with the freezer option — which, according to National Turkey Federation spokesman Keith Williams, accounts for a whopping 85 percent  of…

It’s always dark before the dawn




In our quest for strength, we come up against many obstacles. The nay sayers, the negative yappers, the weak and envious, and low budgets. At times, it can seem impossible. Even unrealistic to expect that we could possibly be selfish enough to think about our own health. The reasons for “no” pile up, while the reasons for “yes” seem harder and harder to see. The ship in the ocean becomes more difficult to see as it moves away from shore, and farther out to sea; but it’s still there. Our reasons to workout and care what we eat are still there, even if we can’t always see them. 

The cold weathers moving in, and this is great news for those who want to burn calories. The body burns far more calories during winter than any other time, but it has to be nurtured. You can’t stuff your face with chocolates and carb heavy yummy good stuff. Think of it this way, eat thanksgiving dinners on a regular basis, and workout. Just watch the fat melt off of you, and the muscle gains skyrocket. Moderate the sweets, drink water, and hit the gym no matter what. You won’t believe how winter is actually the best chance to get that body you never thought you could get.

A GREAT excuse to eat healthy food! Who wants to become a slob? No one!

I have a confession. When it comes to cake and milkshakes, I am a fat kid at heart. Nothing wrong with that! I eat healthy, and cleanse my system once every two months or maybe 3, but I will still enjoy an awesome cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Moderation is key. The body still needs sugar to break down all those good things you eat. More on that later. Just wanted to share this great post!
