So it’s October, that means pumpkin seeds, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin donuts, and pumpkin pie GALORE!

Personally, I LOVE Pumpkin! My guilty pleasure in the fall is Dunkin Donut’s massive Pumpkin Muffins. 500 calories of pure pumpkin joy!

But what if there was a way to enjoy that same pumpkin-y deliciousness without the guilt?

Pumpkin Recipe for a NEW Thanksgiving !

Tired of the same old Thanksgiving routine? Here’s a shot of new. Pumpkin Tiramisu. Take the pumpkin pie desert to a new level. So good, even the pumpkin pie haters will love it!


Remember, awesome holiday meals DO NOT have to be the enemy to our fitness goals! You just have to put a little twist on it. Enjoy, this is awesome.

Homemade Almond Milk

  • almond milk 51 Cup of Almonds (soaked in cold water over night)
  • 3 Cups of Water
  • 1 Teaspoon of Sweetener (optional)

 Here’s what to do:

  • Soak the almonds over night or for 8 hours.
  • Rinse the almonds and throw away the water.
  • Place almonds in blender and add 3 cups of cold water. Blend until you get a white “milky” solution.
  • almond milk 3Using a cheese-cloth, strain the milk (I used the instrument on the picture, this is what we use in Venezuela to filter coffee..it works just fine!); place cloth over a deep bowl and pour the almond milk; the liquid should go through and the cloth should retain the leftover shredded almonds. Squeeze out as much milk as possible.
  • Place in sealed container and refrigerate!

With the leftover shredded almonds you can make Almond Flour:

  • Place the shredded almonds in the oven at 180 C for about 20 minutes, until dry and toasted.

Healthy Breakfast!

Goooooood Morning Saturday!

So, like me and anyone who works out or lives a healthy life, you are going to make a nice breakfast. Eggs will no doubt be in the mix. Like any morning, you have scrambled, or fried. To be adventurous, after the hundredth morning, you try adding some pepper. Eventually you graduate to fresh diced chives and sautéed gourmet mushrooms. Yeah, awesome, for sure. But WHY stop there??

No, the adventure continues. There is hope for the “boring egg syndrome”. Here it is, my friends, an answer. Give it a read, give it a try, and let me know what ya think!


Banana & Blueberry Loaf

Our resident food contributor Bianca Dawson was mixing up this little masterpiece over the weekend and its definitely worth sharing!

Its as close to a healthy cake as you are getting, we love the loaf!  Its gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free & all kinds of delicious.



4 ripe bananas, peeled and halved

Juice 1/2 orange

3/4 cup coconut flour, sifted

4 eggs

1 teaspoon concentrated natural vanilla extract

3 tablespoons melted coconut oil (approximately 50 grams)

1 tablespoon agave syrup

2 cups blueberries (frozen is fine)


Preheat your oven to 180 degrees

Grease and line your loaf tin with baking paper.

Place the bananas into a medium sized bowl and mash them well. Stir in the orange juice. Sift in the flour, mix to combine. Add the eggs, mix to combine. Add the vanilla, agave and oil, mix to combine.
